| ℹ️ Resources were rebalanced in version 15.1. Tier names changed, caps increased, and harvesting guarantees were added. |
Resources are materials you gather in the Wilderness and use to craft items, build in your home and Waystation, and trade with Villagers. They come in three quality tiers.
Resource tiers
As of version 15.1, resource quality tiers have been renamed for clarity:
| New name | Old name | Examples |
| Standard | Tier 1 | Basic Wood, Clay, Ore |
| Good | Tier 2 | Better-quality variants of most materials |
| Excellent | Tier 3 | Top-quality materials; 5 required for some Overgrowth Charms |
Resource cap
The crafting resource inventory cap increased to 2,000 in version 15.1 (up from the previous cap). This applies to Crafting Resources as a category.
Harvesting guarantees
Harvesting resource nodes now guarantees the quality you might expect:
- Harvesting a Good (Tier 2) node now guarantees at least one Good resource.
- Harvesting an Excellent (Tier 3) node now guarantees at least one Excellent resource.
- Higher-level Shears now yield Good Wool when shearing Fluffalos.
Resource availability
Version 15.1 includes a general rebalance of resource gain rates. Overall:
- More Wood, Ore, and Clay (previously too scarce).
- Less Mordant Base, Ink, and Paper (previously too abundant).
- Chives can now be found in Brambles and Roots, and occasionally when harvesting Wood and Flowers.
Mordant Base
Mordant Base is now obtained by purifying Mushrooms. In previous versions it came from purifying Flowers. If you had Purified Mushroom items in your inventory before the 15.1 update, they were removed and you received coin compensation via in-game mail.
Seasonal vs. year-round resources
Since version 15.0, several common resources are available year-round: Paper, Ink, Wood, Wool, Pigment Base, and Wood Stumps. Other items — such as Mushroom Drops, Chopped Tubers, and specific flowers — still vary by season.
