A Village is a shared game world that you and a group of other players inhabit together. Think of it like a 'realm' or 'shard' in other online games — players can only see and interact with others in the same Village. This system allows Spirit Crossing to support as many players as possible.
What Is in a Village?
- A set of Waystations (community homes shared by small groups of players)
- A Village Center (shared NPC hub with shops, quests, and services)
- A Wilderness (shared exploration and activity area)
How Am I Assigned to a Village?
Your Village is assigned automatically when you first start the game. You cannot choose your Village directly.
Can I Change Villages?
A Village is assigned automatically to you when you first sign up, but it is now possible to swap Villages so you can play with your friends if you receive an invite code from them, or if you send them your own. Just head to your Friends tab in-game, in the top right corner, and click “Create Invite” or “Use Invite Code”. The main use of this is to connect with a new player who you know outside of the game who happened to arrive in the wrong cohort.
Important note: If you move Villages, please know that you will no longer be able to find, interact with or visit friends from your previous village, including those in your waystation, unless they also move to the same Village as yours. This option exists, but to be honest, we don’t encourage it. The waystation should be your primary social hub.
This is the first Alpha where Villages are being tested at scale. Your feedback on the Village system in #general-feedback is especially valuable right now.
