Which NPCs can I gift from the start? When do I unlock gifting with the rest?

Not all NPC gifting is available from the moment you start. The gifting system opens up gradually as you progress through the early campaign — this lets you learn the system in context rather than all at once.

Available from the very start

The following NPCs can be gifted from day one, while their World Events are active:

Unlocked early through quests

NPC	How gifting is unlocked
The Tailor	Giftable once you receive Nibbit's 'Tailor-Made Thanks' quest — unlocked on your first day after helping the Tailor.
Main Villagers (e.g. Kasu, Marj, Joule)	Giftable after completing Marj's 'Joy of Gifting' quest.
Spirits (Tier 3)	After restoring Maya during 'The Spirit of Connection' quest, you may encounter Spirits that need Tier 3 Spirit Drinks, Food, or Medicine. Helping them can reward a giftable item.

Finding gifts before the main Villagers are unlocked

Even before Marj's 'Joy of Gifting' quest is complete, you can find giftable items in several places:

The Village vending machine — the Crisps Bag gift is always available here.
Empty Pots in the Wilderness.
The Wilderness Cache at the top of the Peak.
Rudi's and Dusty's Wilderness shops.
Nibbit's shop — includes a special bundle containing a random giftable item.

💡 Finding a gift early is a good sign — hold onto it for when the relevant NPC's gifting becomes available through the quest line.
