What are the Waystation Roles and what do they do?

When a member joins or moves to a new waystation, they all start as Initiates. As they learn more about being a part of a waystation and contribute to the beacon, they will be able to obtain higher roles and unlock new abilities.

Initiate

Every player starts as an Initiate in waystations. They have limited permissions but they are still able to vote on proposed decorations and use facilities.

Abilities:

• Neighbor

Neighbor

Players who have passed Eudora’s initiation are promoted to “Neighbors” and gain the ability to propose new decor in the waystation and take on certifications.

• Vote on proposed decorations and facilities
• Instal recipes at crafting stations
• Propose new decorations
• Put items into and take items from shared storage
• Decorator

Decorator  

Players who completed Eudora’s Decorator Certification gain enhanced decorating permissions, allowing them to propose building kit pieces and to move existing decor.

• Vote on proposed decorations and facilities
• Install and uninstall recipes at crafting stations
• Propose new decorations and building kits
• Put items into and take items from shared storage
• Move and paint small decorations
• Architect

Architect

To become an Architect, a player must complete Eudora’s Architect Certification and be selected randomly amongst eligible players in the monthly rotation.This temporary role lasts 1 month and grants players the highest decorating and moderation permissions. Architects can move buildings structures like walls and submit significantly more daily proposals.

• Install and uninstall recipes at crafting stations
• Propose new decorations and building kits
• Put items into, take items from and remove (delete) items from shared storage
• Move and paint small decorations

Elder

Elders are former Architects who stepped down from the role or were rotated out in the monthly Architect selection. They have similar permissions to Decorators and are eligible to become Architects again.

Abilities:

• Use facilities
• Install and uninstall recipes at crafting stations
• Vote on proposed decorations and facilities
• Propose new decorations and building kit pieces
• Paint and move small decorations
• Take items from and put items into shared storage

Currently unavailable roles:

• Ghost

Ghost players are players sanctioned by Architects that have limited access to proposals, but can still use waystation crafting stations and vendors.This role is currently unavailable while we reevaluate and improve our moderation systems.
