Storms are a core part of life in Spirit Crossing. They affect both the Wilderness and your Waystation, but they behave differently in each location. Understanding storms will help you protect your home and make the most of Rainbow Time.
⚠ The visual difference between Wilderness Storms and Waystation Storms is not yet obvious in-game. The development team plans to improve this in a future update.
Wilderness Storms
- Occur approximately 9 times per day, with 1–2 hours between each storm.
- Duration: 5 to 10 minutes each.
- You receive a 3-minute warning before each storm.
- Do not damage buildings or decor.
- Can occur during Wilderness tournaments and events.
- After each Wilderness Storm, Rainbow Time begins (4 minutes).
Waystation Storms
- Less frequent than Wilderness Storms (2 to 3 times a week).
- Cause storm damage to buildings and decor not protected by covered areas or Bonfires.
- After each Waystation Storm, your Waystation Capacity is recalculated based on Beacon contributions.
- Rainbow Time follows Waystation Storms as well.
- After the storm, you receive a letter in your inbox showing Capacity changes — but only if you contributed to the Beacon beforehand.

How to Protect Your Waystation
- Place Bonfires in your Waystation — they protect nearby buildings and decor from storm damage.
- Build under covered areas — roofs and overhead structures protect items placed beneath them.
- Check an item's Storm Resistance by inspecting it.
- Craft items at happier Crafting Stations to get higher Storm Resistance.
