Note: This only works on version 2.0.1 and higher, and only for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Version 2.0.1 is already available for all of those devices.
Before you begin
- Look at this page to see if there's a save file you want to import. If so, make note of the name, because you'll need to use it in Step 9. If not, check the list again at some point in the future—hopefully more saves will have been added.
- Unfortunately, unlike on computer you can't just import any file you want onto an iOS device; it has to be a file that we've set up on our server in a particular way.
- Make sure you are connected to the internet for this entire operation.
- Make sure that at least one save slot is empty. If none are currently empty, delete at least one save slot before starting the steps below.
Steps
- Start from the game's Title Screen.
- Open the Save Slots menu.
- Tap an empty slot into which you'll be importing the save file.
- You should be back on the Title Screen and the slot that you just tapped should now be selected.
- Open the Title Screen's Options Menu.
- Tap the word "Options" 7 times within 5 seconds.
- When given the choice to Import or Export, tap Import.
- A text field will appear at the top of the screen. Tap within the text field.
- The keyboard will come up. Use the keyboard to type the name of the save file you want to import. Make sure to exactly match the spelling and capitalization!
- When you've finished typing the file name (in this example the file name is "verybeginning"), tap Done.
- The keyboard should have now gone away. Tap the green button with the check mark.
- A popup will warn you that you're about to overwrite both local and cloud data. Tap Yes.
- If all went well, a "Success" popup should come up. Tap Quit and the app should exit—if it does not exit on its own, force the app to close.
- If all didn't go well, you may get 404 error. What probably happened is you mistyped the file name in Step 9. Double-check the file name, then try again from the beginning.

- Launch the Cozy Grove app.
- You may immediately be told about a save file conflict and asked which one to keep. If so, tap Local. If not, don't worry about it.
- Open the Save Slots menu.
- If all went well, the previously empty slot should now contain data.
- Tap the slot that you want to play on.
- Tap Continue to load into the game.
