There is a problem with the 1.88 and 2.0.0 families of updates in which the Triple Town app appears to disappear from some devices without any user intervention. (This problem may also occur in later updates if you're updating from something older than one of these versions to something newer.)
Steps that everyone should do
Fortunately, the problem is usually just an appearance problem and the app is still installed. To check whether the app is still installed, look in your list of applications (the screenshots below are from a Samsung Galaxy Captivate running Android 2.2; the way you access the list of applications on your device may be different).
- Tap the Applications icon to open the list of apps.
- Look for Triple Town in the list of apps.
If you find Triple Town, that's great! Skip to the next section to learn how to fix the appearance. If you don't find it, install it again from the Google Play Store *just once* and it should appear in the list of applications.
Steps you should do if you found the app in the list of applications
If you found Triple Town in the list of applications, then you're probably still reading because you're in one of the following situations:
- The Triple Town icon is no longer on your Home Screen.
- The Triple Town icon is still on the Home Screen, but when you click on it you get a message saying that the app isn't installed.
- There is more than one Triple Town icon on your Home Screen.
- The icon is currently on your Home Screen, but you know based on past experience that it will eventually disappear.
Fixing the problem
For all these cases, the steps below should fix the problem. If there is no Triple Town icon on the Home Screen, start from Step 3. If there is more than one Triple Town icon on the Home Screen, do Steps 1 and 2 for all of them before proceeding to Step 3.
- Touch and hold the app icon currently on the home screen.
- Drag the icon to the trashcan to remove it from the home screen. Or on some versions of Android there is no trashcan, but instead a place that says "Remove" (as opposed to "Uninstall")--drag the icon to "Remove".
- Tap the Applications icon to open the list of apps.
- Touch and hold the Triple Town icon.
- Drag the icon to a free space on the home screen.
- Done! You've now re-created the app icon.
What if I have this problem on a version older than 1.88?
If you have this problem on a version of the game older than 1.88, unfortunately that's probably not an issue inherent to the Triple Town app. It could be a problem with your device, operating system, or SD card. We recommend the following steps:
- Try moving the game completely onto device memory as opposed to it being on the SD card.
- If that doesn't help, start by contacting your device manufacturer's support team. They will be more familiar with this type of problem than we are.
