How do I join the Steam public playtest? – Spry Fox Support

Spirit Crossing is available as a free public playtest on Steam. Here is how to get started.

How to install and join

Step	What to do
1. Install Steam	Make sure you have the Steam desktop client installed. Download it from steampowered.com if you do not have it yet.
2. Find Spirit Crossing	While logged into Steam, navigate to the Spirit Crossing store page directly from your browser — or search for 'Spirit Crossing' in the top-right search bar while on the Store tab inside the Steam client.
3. Join the playtest	Click the green 'Join the Playtest' button on the Spirit Crossing store page. This immediately adds Spirit Crossing to your Steam library.
4. Install the game	Go to the Library tab in your Steam client, find Spirit Crossing in the list, and click Install.
5. Play	Once installed, you're ready to start playing.

⚠️ There is a small possibility that the playtest may temporarily close to new joins depending on network conditions. If this happens, it will be temporary. As long as you have signed up from the Spirit Crossing store page, you will be notified when it re-opens.

How long does the playtest last?

There is no exact closing date for the public playtest right now. If that changes, Spry Fox will give advance notice before the playtest closes.

Will my playtest progress carry over to the main game?

Yes. Your progress from the Spirit Crossing Playtest will carry over to the main game if you purchase and play at launch. You will not lose what you have built or earned during the playtest.

ℹ️ Progress is tied to your Steam account. If you have also played the Netflix mobile version, note that those are separate — mobile progress does not carry over to Steam (see Article 3.29 for details).
