Spirit Crossing has an Onboarding process designed to introduce you to the game's features, mechanics, characters, and overarching storyline at a comfortable pace. Rather than throwing everything at you at once, the early game is structured so that new systems open up naturally as you play.
How long does onboarding take?
The onboarding process spans approximately 5 days of casual gameplay. During this time, you will encounter the main story beats, meet key NPCs, and learn how the core systems work. You do not need to play intensively — the pacing is designed around relaxed, everyday sessions.
Are some features locked at the start?
Yes — some features are intentionally introduced later in the onboarding sequence rather than all at once. During your first 5 days, certain features may only become available after you have completed specific campaign quests. Features introduced this way include:
- Resource Purification
- Waystations
- Additional NPC Shops and Gifting Options
This is by design. Unlocking these features through the story means you will have context for how they work and who they involve, rather than encountering them cold. Once unlocked, they remain available for the rest of your time in Spirit Crossing.
| ℹ️ If you are not yet seeing a feature — such as the ability to gift certain NPCs or access a particular shop — it may simply not have been unlocked yet. Keep playing through the main quests and it will open up naturally. |
What if I want to go at my own pace?
You can. The 5-day onboarding is based on casual play, not a rigid schedule. You can spend as much or as little time in the game each day as you like — the quest progression waits for you and does not expire. There are no daily login requirements or time-limited onboarding windows.
