This page will give some tips for some quests players have asked questions about. If you want to try to figure them out for yourself, you should stop reading now and navigate away from this page. Otherwise, please scroll down to keep reading. The quests covered include:
- (Wooden Bear) Help Thoreau
- (Wooden Bear) Help Kafka
- (Veggie Bear) Take a photo of critters
(Wooden Bear) Help Thoreau
- The point of this quest is to teach you to daisychain lamps to extend colored areas. This is an important thing to learn because only colored trees and animals can be harvested.
- Thoreau is a tree to the southeast of Wooden Bear. It has an umbrella in its branches and is probably uncolored when Wooden Bear tells you about him.
- Wooden Bear's area should already be colored when Wooden Bear tells you about Thoreau. Take any lamp (Wooden Bear gives you one at the beginning of this quest, but any lamp will work) and place it as close to Thoreau as possible while still keeping the lamp on the colored area. The colored area should expand in a circle around the lamp, coloring in Thoreau so that you can harvest him.
- If the colored area doesn't expand,
- maybe you put the lamp just outside the colored area, instead of just inside the colored area. Try repositioning the lamp to be a bit more inside the colored area.
- maybe you put the lamp too far inside the colored area, such that the circle of the lamp's color only affected things that were already colored. Try repositioning the lamp to be closer to the edge of the colored area. A dashed circle around the lamp shows the area it will color, so make sure this circle encompasses at least some uncolored land.
- If the colored area expanded but didn't color Thoreau, you have the right idea, but the lamp's reach isn't quite far enough to color in Thoreau. Do one of the following:
- Reposition the lamp so that its coloration extends to Thoreau. A dashed circle around the lamp shows the area it will color, so make sure the base of Thoreau's trunk is inside this circle.
- Get another lamp and extend the chain of color even more in Thoreau's direction. One lamp is able to reach if positioned well, so two lamps should be more than enough. A dashed circle around the lamp shows the area it will color, so make sure the base of Thoreau's trunk is inside this circle.
- If the colored area doesn't expand,
(Wooden Bear) Help Kafka
- Wood Bear describes Kafka as a special tree: "Square-shaped. Rootless. Lots of white leaves inside." In other words, Kafka is a book. Find the book and bring it back to Wooden Bear.
(Veggie Bear) Take a photo of critters
- Unlike other photo quests where you should position decorations all together and then take the photo, for this quest the critters need to still be alive and moving around. If you first catch the critters then put them on the ground before taking the photo, it won't count.
